COMMENTS FROM CAMPERS & THEIR PARENTS
"Betty Ruth and Tommy – Henry has LOVED Camp WPW, and
after this summer, this is what he said '…Heaven reminds me of Camp Whip
Poor Will. It is perfect.'
Henry Lathrop, camper
Camp Whip-Poor-Will is just so amazing! I love it so much for my kids, it is so sweet and they have the best time! Arts and Crafts, Petting Zoo, Nature Hikes, Train Ride, Camp Songs, Skits, - it is just a good old-school camp with s’mores, camp fires, snow cones and a camp store on Friday.
It is the perfect first “Full Day Camp.” My son Joe has been going for 3 years and couldn’t wait to go back. My daughter Sloan is chomping at the bit to get out there now that she is old enough.
It’s out on a beautiful piece of land in Waxhaw and kids ride a chartered bus (from Methodist Church at Prov + Sharon) to get there. It has the same driver they have had for 20+ years - the bus only goes when kids are singing camp songs! Counselors are on the bus too so they make it safe and fun.
Tommy and Betty Ruth are the kindest, nicest folks and love these little children like their own. The camp counselors are all experienced and fun for the kids.
I am always so excited FOR my kids because they have the best time. (I am even a little envious when I send them off.)
Wonderful childhood summer memories are made here at Camp Whip-Poor-Will! -- Jenny Jordan
What an incredible camp you created for hundreds and hundreds of children to enjoy. It was evident how much love was poured into that camp. My oldest son is very cautious and a little hesitant in new situations, but he felt on top of the world at CWPW! Believe it or not, one of his favorite parts was "singing on the bus to camp!"
Happy Holidays & warmest wishes,
"Felix had another great stay at CWPW. Your place in the
magical for children and we hope you will keep running it for quite some
more time". Gratefully, Michael (Dad of Felix).
